Come On , Roger !!!

Watching any legendary sportsman ,of the Tiger Woods,Roger Federer, Sachin Tendulkar scale of greatness, offers great pleasure. Its like reading a timeless classic, or say, listening to some fabulous music : instead of being envious of the talent(as i have often suspected some dicks and whores of being ) , you rather experience feelings of exhilaration, of awe, and ,as in m
y case, of pure joy.

Take Federer , for e.g.. I have had a terribly hard time explaining to some of my friends the sheer genius that man is. According to them the guy doesn't have to work that hard...that he is just too gifted. They say success comes too easy to him. Hence, they support players like Nadal(its alright for the girls to get wet gazing at his muscular body, but come on guys, what's wrong with you! After all , its not Ana Ivanovic that we are talking about! ), who have to sweat their ****** out to win. What they can't get is the simple fact that Federer may not run around the entire court chasing stupid balls , but that he has had to overcome shortcomings that ordinary mortals like them(my friends) can only forever dream of.
As a growing teenager, Roger had this huge attitude problem which would make him fling rackets , cuss at his opponents,parents,coach.... you just think of any misbehaviour possible on the court , and Roger used to do it . His childhood coach even remarked that young Roger would have made even John McEnroe look civilized. And it is precisely this imposing demon, his own mind, that roger had to bury, knowing that success would never come unless he sorted out his head. This might sound easy to do, but it is far more difficult than to just make some changes in your serve or improving your fitness. To come out of one's comfort zone and consciously change one's attitude is not something that everyone can do(to be bull-headed and not change oneself seems to be in vogue these days.....take the number cock-suckers joining communities like Be-Yourself or I Love Myself on the social networking sites like Orkut,Facebook,etc.., and u get an idea of the disease these small town apes suffer) .In fact so profound has been the turnaround that if look at modern tennis, Roger must be one of the most sober players on court .

I know that I am angry ;angry at seeing a player of Federer's stature being questioned, angry on hearing comments like "oh! his days are numbered". What's more , I sensed the same anger in Roger when he went about his annihilation of Del Potro(world no. 6) in the Australian Open Quarters. But a couple of statements made by the commentators soothed the fury somewhat.

Vijay Amritraj: " Have you ever seen Muhammad Ali live? The grace of Roger's footwork reminds me of him."
Martina Navratilova: " The only way Del Potro can win this match is if Roger sprains his ankle.....a severe sprain."

Anyway, maybe the morons would never understand . I just hope he plays Nadal in the final, and beats the shit out of him.

Come On, Roger!!!
